Chinchillas

"Softest fur in the world."
We have two white chinchillas (male and female) and two mosaic beige chinchillas currently in stock.

Chinchillas originally came from Peru and they make great pets. Many people describe them as "a cross between a squirrel and a rabbit." They are easy to take care of, and smell very little. Instead of bathing in water, chinchillas need regular "dust baths"! They roll in special dust to keep their soft coats from getting oily.

Rabbits

We've got lots of different rabbits at the moment.

Rats

We have lots of young rats at the moment, in many colour variations, even hairless! Contrary to popular belief rats make excellent pets. They are very intelligent and can be trained to do any tricks that cats can learn. They are social animals and enjoy being with people if they have been tamed. Many owners let their rats "ride" on their shoulders while they do house work! They are very easy to take care of, and tamed rats are unlikely to bite.

Mice

We have a wide selection of mice in all colours imaginable! Mice are small and easy to take care of, just make sure you get a cage with bars that they can't squeeze through!

Degus

We currently have a pair of degus. Originally from cihle these little critters make great pets. They bath in dust like chinchillas and love to munch on fresh greens.

Gerbils

We're usually well stocked with a selection of different gerbils. Gerbils make a great hamster alternative because they don't sleep all day and we have always found them much less likely to bite. They come from hot climates and are much more efficient with water; in other words, they pee, and thus smell much less than hamsters. They make a great choice for a child's first pet because they are safe, small and easy to care for.

Guinea Pigs

We have a large selection of Guinea Pigs at the moment, in all sorts of colours, fur types and ages.

Hamsters

We've got lots of hamsters. Hamsters are very popular because they are very clean and don't move fast. They may bite if they are not properly tamed and are nocturnal. Many hamster kits are available with extensions that allow you to build a complex tunnel system that'll keep your pet entertained and happy.

Hedgehogs

Hedgehogs are absolutely adorable. They'll curl up into a ball when scared, but once they feel more comfortable, they'll stick out their little snout and begin to explore their surroundings. Like hamsters, they're nocturnal.
