Jobs at pet stores

If you're interested in getting hired at a pet store, there's nothing like experience to get your foot in the door. Having pets of your own, especially exotic ones, helps. However, the best thing you can do is volunteer at a pet store first. You'll know if you like the work, your supervisor could be a relevant reference, and you'll save the store the extra hours required for training. It can be a fun way to fill out your graduation volunteer hour requirements. Stores can only hire new people when someone leaves or during expansions, whereas volunteers are always welcome :)

Russell has been working at Pet Habitat since 1995 with 12 years of experience in the pet trade business, serving customers in the Tri-City area.

Shiree

Shiree has 9 years experience with birds, dogs, cats, small animals and reptiles (Animal Lovers Person). She owns an umbrella cockatoo, white capped pionus, kakariki, african gray and small animals from our store.

Lori has 15 years experience in the pet trade business (Animal Lovers Person). She owns Quaker Parakeet Parrot from our store.

Rufus

Rufus has 10 years experience in breeding birds, fish, reptiles and small animals. He owns a kakariki, canary, cockatiels, fish and reptiles from our store.

Beth

Beth has 2 year of experience in animal maintenance. She also owns a dog and some fish from our store.

Kate

Kate works in animal maintenance, she owns a betta and a rat from our store.

Garrett

Garrett works in fish tank maintenance. Along witth a fishtank. He also owns 2 rats, 2 firebelly toads, and a firebelly newt from our store.

Alissa

Alissa is a long-time animal lover who has a dog, four cats and two rats. She works in dog maintenance.

Bev - Volunteer

Bev works as a volunteer, playing and socializing with baby birds and puppies. She owns an african congo grey, senegal parrot, pacific parrotlet, quaker parakeet, cockatiel and love bird from our store.

Peggy - Volunteer

Peggy works as a volunteer, taming and socializing with baby birds and puppies. She owns a love bird and cockatiel from our store.
